WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

KR, aged 14
"It helped to provide strategies to reduce anxiety and raise self-esteem."
TH, parent of a young person who attended PROJECT:ME
"Really enjoyed it and found it useful. He said he felt more confident talking out loud."
SW, age 13, from Great Baddow High School, who attended PROJECT:ME
"I know what I want to do now. I want to live my life and just be the best I can be."
Nikki, Parent
"My daughter took part in a group at school aged 14. Kate really helped with her confidence and she enjoyed her sessions, she looked forward to them every week. This has given her the confidence to decide a club she attended is no longer right for her and has started a netball club which she is really enjoying despite it pushing her out of her comfort zone. She would not have done something like this before. Cannot recommend Kate enough. A huge thank you."
LR, age 12
"Now I realise that you should be more comfortable with who you are and it doesn't matter what other people think."

I have been shown this clip twice in the last week, its clearly resonating with people. Its definitely worth a watch.
.
In under 3 minutes, Brene Brown explores how creating an authentic empathic connection with someone is so powerful.
However, to do this we must be courageous with our own vulnerabilities.
.
Oh and if someone tells you their concern's not to start a sentence with 'at least.'
.
Sometimes just being with that person, not trying to fix things, but truly listening is what's needed.

This is fantastic x I’m going to share as more people need to understand this.

Love this Kate, thanks for sharing 😊

Hurrah I’ve got a certificate 🙌

Just completed a 2 day Mental Health First Aid Course, great to refresh & get up to date information/statistics, improve my confidence & awareness so that I can support myself & others.
.
Having done this course a few years ago it’s amazing to see how things have changed, sadly the numbers of people with mental ill health are increasing so its good to keep learning to build on skills so that I can support others to the best of my ability.
.
Thank you to Active Essex &
& Mental Health First Aid England & for everyone on my course for making it such an engaging & informative 2 days of training 🙏
.
Please do reach out, Im here if anyone would like to message or call me, if I can’t help I will do my best to find someone who can.

Well Done Kate xx

This World Mental Health Day campaign offers a chance for us to not only share an awareness, but to take action to highlight how inequality can be addressed to ensure people are able to enjoy good mental health. We must keep challenging the stigma and discrimination that can come with mental ill health.

Through my work with Project:ME in schools, colleges and communities, we work with 9–19-year-olds towards ending the stigma around mental health at an early age, opening up conversations and normalising the discussion of mental health and wellbeing in their lives. Empowering the next generation to lead the way 😊
.
.
Last year I shared some tips that I have found helpful…might help some else 😊 Be kind to yourself.
.
.
This is what I find helpful:
💥 Ask for help when I need it

💥 Developing habits that nourish my body & mind (regular meditation, exercise & foods that fuel my body – I work off the 80/20 rule for food & drink.

💥 Exercise, every single day. This is a gamechanger for me. Even if its 30 minutes’ walk – I move my body every day to get those free feel-good feelings caused by chemical changes in our brain – this positively changes my mood. It is scientifically proven to be as effective as taking medication for the same reason.

💥 Listen to feel-good music when I sense myself spiralling into a bad mood – snaps me out of it quickly. Soundtrack by The Greatest Showman or Whitney, Madonna or MJ work well.

💥 Connect. Push myself to talk to people & open up more about my feelings.

💥 Surround myself with positivity (this means unfollowing/cleaning my social media feed of negativity, watching things on TV that lift my mood = not the news & being around others who bring the best out in me)

💥 Meditate regularly. Being in the present moment centres me & brings a sense of calm to what can seem like a chaotic world.

As always, please contact me if I can support you in any way.

It would be great to hear what you would suggest to others that help with your mental health?
