project me

PROJECT:ME is an early intervention project to enable young people to learn techniques and strategies so that they can future proof their mental health, improve in confidence and self-esteem, as well as to encourage physical activity and engagement in the creative arts.

PROJECT:ME (Mind Empower) aims to empower children and young people to bring an awareness to their mental health so that they can make positive changes to their situation. This programme enables young people to learn practical techniques and disciplines to use both now and in the future to improve both their confidence and self-esteem.

The programme includes coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) methods and activities tailored to meet the needs of the group. Group discussions, videos, workbook activities and a variety of physical activity and creative arts make this programme engaging and fun.

The NHS (2018) reports that ‘1 in 8 children aged 5 to 19 had at least one mental health disorder’. The improvement of children and young people’s wellbeing has never been so vital for the individual and the communities in which they live.

PROJECT:ME enables young people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest stage…we believe that prevention is better than cure!

This is undertaken by bringing coaching/NLP activities together with dance/physical activity to highlight the importance of wellbeing and exercise; participants are seeing an immediate impact, being able to instil methods into their everyday lives.

The programme provides essential support for any emotional and well-being needs that may arise.

All programmes are tailored and can be delivered from 1-day workshops through to long term programmes. PROJECT:ME programmes focus on young people in school, college and community groups.

PROJECT:ME is a programme in collaboration with myself Kate Nokes and Vicki Stavrinos (Director of Bam Bam Boogies CIC). We have over 20 years of experience of working with young people in our own fields and together bring an energy to the programme that has seen a lasting positive impact for the young people who have attended.
